Scottish Oatmeal Scones

From the kitchen of Carolyn Johnson in "The Wyoming Woman"


2cupsall purpose white flour
1cupmelted butter or margarine
1cupsour cream (or 2/3 cup sour milk)

Preheat a conventional oven to 350°.

In a large bowl mix flour, sugar and salt.

Add, oatmeal.

Stir melted butter into the oatmeal mixture.

Combine soda and sour cream and mix into the oatmeal-butter mixture.

Place the dough ball on a well floured dough board and gently kneed until the exterior is smooth. Roll until about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into diamond shapes with knife or cookie cutter.

Bake at 350° until lightly brown.

Serve hot from the oven!
